The Clear and Defend Plus Facial Wash is a refreshing formula that helps to cleanse the skin, encouraging a clarified, more radiant look. Neutrogena’s face wash is powered by a 4% AHA/PHA blend that helps to even the skin tone and soothe the appearance of blemishes.
A 2% concentration of glycolic acid seeks to minimise the appearance of discolouration caused by blemishes. Gluconolactone, a resurfacing agent, aims to refine the skin, while salicylic acid helps to remove excess sebum. Discover a balanced-looking complexion with this revitalising face wash.
- Application: Wet face. Apply to hands, add water and massage face gently. Rinse thoroughly. Start with one application daily, then increase to two if desired. If dryness or peeling occurs, reduce application to once a day or every other day.
- Please Note: Avoid contact with eyes. Contains an AHA that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and sunburn. Use a sunscreen and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.

Good refreshing feeling
The face wash comes in a convenient pump bottle and It has a pleasant, refreshing scent that leaves your skin feeling clean and invigorated. The formula contains salicylic acid, a well-known acne-fighting ingredient, which does help in reducing breakouts over time. However, there are some issues that I couldn't overlook. The face wash can be quite drying, even for someone with oily skin like mine. Using it every day led to noticeable dryness and peeling, so I had to reduce the frequency to avoid over-drying my skin. The consistency of the product is also a bit runny, making it challenging to control the amount you dispense and it doesn’t foam. Additionally, I didn't see immediate results in terms of acne reduction. However the refreshing feeling was amazing. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

I enjoyed using this cleanser. I didn't realise it was a jelly texture but I quite liked it. I found my skin was more purified and I experienced reduced breakouts! Super easy and gentle cleanser that was refreshing and didn't dry out my skin. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Good for preventing breakouts
The good: it does indeed prevent breakouts. I used it at various stages of my cycle and it worked like a charm! It was also great at removing makeup. It is unscented, and worked well on my sensitive skin. Didn't irritate it. It's great to get proper clean skin without scrubbing. The bad: it makes my skin very dry. First time I used it, my skin got dehydrated. This balanced of after a couple of uses, but even after a couple of weeks it still does my skin, even though I use a deep moisturising mask every night. Secondly, though it prevented breakouts, it didn't improve the appearance of my skin. I even took "before" pics but the "after" is the same so I didn't post them. I was expecting it to reduce redness and reduce the appearance of pores, but it did neither of these. Overall, I like it but I think there's some room for improvement. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Really works!
After 3 weeks of testing this product I can notice improvement of my acne-prone skin. This facial wash is really powerful so I decide to use it once a day at evening and it was enough for me to see results. Skin is visibly clearer, it reduces the amount of blackheads for sure. I also notice that my post-acne marks are much lighter. It makes skin a little bit dry after use, so you need to remember about good moisturising cream. I think that product may be a Little bit too strong for sensitive skin but anyone with oily, acne prone skin would be really satisfied with this face wash. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Good for combination or normal skin
I found this product good. I liked the consistency, not too runny but not to hard to rub into skin either. I did feel like it cleansed my skin well, possibly too well as I noticed an increase in oil production while using it. I liked it was scent free. I do not believe the claims of better skin in 1 week, as my acne did not improve, however for those with normal skin this would be a great fash wash. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Great for my preteen daughter.
Both myself and my pre teen daughter have been using this and it has worked particularly well on her (who needs It more than me). The results have been very noticeable. It is easy to use, and has been gentle on her skin. Very impressed so far! #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Pleasantly surprised
Left my skin feeling very clean but not dry and squeaky, worked well for my oily skin with use of a moisturiser after, however could imagine this being a bit stripping for anyone with dry skin. Sensitive enough to not irritate eyes when removing eye makeup. Decent cleanser but nothing miraculous. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Did the job
I tried this for 4 weeks, using it both in the shower and at the sink once a day. I found it ok, nothing special. Reason for this is i liked that i could use it on my eye area and it didnt sting at all, goes on and wipes off easily. For me afterwards my skin felt very tight, dry and a little itchy. My face certainly felt clean but unsure id buy again due to the dryness. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample

Not suitable for dry/sensitive but does work!
*received free for review, honest feedback* So I've been dealing with adult Acne for the past few months thanks to b12 injections. It's the first time in my 29 years I've ever dealt with it. Therefore I really wanted to get on with this product. Unfortunately I have very dry and sensitive skin, and I found this was just far too drying for me, even to use a few times a week. I have however been using it on my body instead. I have KP on the tops of my arms and a small amount of Acne on the back of my legs. I've found it's very good for this purpose. Still a bit drying but much more manageable on the body, and it DOES work! I wouldn't recommend this to anyone with drier skin types or those that are sensitive, but if you're oily I imagine this would be fine for you, please do moisturise after though, stripping the skin is not the way to go I promise you! I would also recommend to anyone with body Acne as you don't need to use too much so for the price it's fine. #HomeTesterClubFreeSample
