Developed for oily and blemish-prone skin types, the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ seeks to clarify and hydrate for up to 24 hours while providing visible results in just eight hours. The dual-action daily gel helps to minimise the appearance of imperfections, dark spots and discolouration, alongside diminishing the look of excess sebum for a more mattified finish.
Fortified with salicylic and lipo-hydroxy acids, the moisturiser provides a gentle micro-exfoliation, helping to decongest pores and promote smoother-looking skin. The formula is supported by niacinamide and zinc PCA, lending brightening and hydrating benefits, alongside encouraging a unified tone and texture. Mannose locks in moisture to help encourage a visibly smoother surface. An advanced phylobioma active ingredient tops the composition to protect from excess sebum and future breakouts, balancing the complexion and layering well with makeup to leave the skin feeling purified and nourished.

Acne Prone Skin Type
This seems to be the only product that got my acne under control however after long time use I think this product is very strong to be used alone. It burns the skin and can give you hyperpigmentation/tiny bumps. If you are using this product I suggest using it as a spot treatment along with something like benzoyl peroxide and then use a lot moisturiser! to combat the dryness and irritation.

Makes my skin tingle
I used to use this a few years back with no problems and thought I’d try it again. It’s made my skin tingle and feel sore, I’m writing this before I go and wash it off. My skin has developed a weird texture too. I can use acids with no reaction so this is very strange. On the plus side, if you don’t react to it, it feels nice going on and has no discernible smell.

I’ve heard so many people rave about this product so of course I wanted to try it for myself. I have very oily, spot prone skin and wanted to try a new moisturiser. Application is great, it feels so nice on the skin and leaves me with a non-shiny finish. That did not last for me... I was at a point where I finally got my oil under control but this reversed it completely. I admit I haven’t used it for that long, however, the day after I started My skin was shiny and wet looking within 2 hours, this was the same with effaclar k. Also, after more use the only difference I noticed Was smaller spots breaking out here and there. My dad even tried it for a while after I stopped and he said it made his skin blotchy. I’m not saying this won’t work for you however if you have oily skin I’d just beware.

Over the years I have been trying and testing various products which have various claims. The only product that I have found delivers time and time again is this one. I don’t know why I keep leaving it to try something else as this does everything I would ever want! It reduces my redness, spots and blackheads. I never seem to have any spots at all when I use this. Great product, but..
I have used this on and off for a while now and on a day to day basis for the past 6 months. It does sometimes work wonders, I have extremely stubborn acne, especially around my chin. The product does what it says and the acne does go away in a few days. My problem with it, however, is that my skin gets used to it very quickly and stops doing anything for me, after a while. Will take a break from it and return at a later date!
