Fight signs of ageing with The Ordinary's Granactive Retinoid 2% Emulsion, a solution that combines two forms of next-generation Retinoid to help improve the appearance of ageing and acne-prone skin.
The two Retinoids used are a Solubilized Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (which has a multi-fold anti-ageing effect, more efficient than Retinol), and pure Retinol in a protective capsule system which supports the delivery and efficacy of Solubilized Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate. The solution works to visibly fight signs of ageing without irritating the skin.
Caution: Retinoids can make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation. Sun protection is particularly important when using retinoids. This product must not be used in conjunction with other retinoids including retinol or retinoic acid. This product is not a treatment for acne. Acne-prone skin may experience a temporary increase in acne during the first few weeks of using any form of retinoid including those used in this formulation.
Apply a few drops to face in the evening as part of your skincare regimen. Do not use with other retinoid treatments. Use sun protection during the day.

Gentle and effective
I was a bit worried about this, as I was moving up from a 0.2% serum from another brand and the 2% seemed quite a step up. No worries, though! This emulsion is very gentle on my sensitive skin and I can definitely see a difference, especially with the fine lines on my forehead. It leaves my skin very soft, too. It is quite a thin emulsion, a bit more liquid than my previous one, but that means it is easier to spread over my face. It has a slight 'chemically' smell, but that fades quickly. It does recommend you keep it in the fridge and I have been doing that. I'll be buying this one again!

Too soon?
I’ve been using this for just under two weeks and maybe I’m just having a miracle moment or has this product given me the clearest skin I’ve ever had?! I’ve tried multiple recommended products and was previously using another brand of retinol with no luck. Even In the week leading up to my period I’ve had only one or two spots when I’m used to one or two a day and much more leading up to my period. Could this be the product I’ve been desperate for the last 20 years?! Hoping the skin remains clear and it’s not just a fluke 🤞🏻 in regards to fine lines, I think it’s too soon to see any major changes.
