For my colour treated, below shoulder length hair: 1) Damp and towel dry the lower half of hair. 2) Apply Elasticizer and wait at least 20 minutes (if I'm honest, I sometimes just sleep on it) 3) Wash and condition hair as normal, just make sure you really do rinse properly. Result? The most amazingly soft, supple, shiny, manageable hair ever!! Yes it is expensive and a bit of faff, but it is SO worth it!
