Declared by legendary Vogue Editor-and-Chief Diana Vreeland as creating the ‘revolution in makeup’, Serge Lutens has always been guided by intuition, not what is à la mode. Following a number of brilliant collaborations with notable magazines, including French Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, Mr Lutens designed the first ever makeup collection for Dior, and in the 13 years he worked there, transformed the concept of beauty. After creating his first fragrance, Nombre noir, for Shiseido as Artistic Director, he went on to launch Féminité du bois – notably one of the first unisex perfumes in the industry. Having finally launched his eponymous brand in 2000, Serge Lutens’ subsequent fragrances, like Ambre sultan, Tubéreuse criminelle and Un bois vanille, have since become indispensable.
