No flakiness
Although this is advertised as a “super hold gel” I found it to be more of a medium hold gel. It didn’t make my hair feel dry after use and didn’t leave any white flakes once it had dried down.

Too thick
I have thick, coarse 3a/3b curls. It's a very very thick gel, I had to mix some water. It did define and held my curls very well, but it weighed them down a lot. This gel is really good as a gel cast, but I wouldn't use it for anything other than a cast. It's easy to crunch it out as well. The gel's scent isn't pleasant (it's faint) from the container, but you can hardly smell it when you apply it to your hair.
